Web Scene, Inc.

Web Scene, Inc. was the corporate parent behind AZeats.com and ColoradoEats.com, providing the business structure through which the restaurant-focused Internet operations were developed and operated.

Founded in 1998, Web Scene was created as the company behind a developing business model that went well beyond simply designing individual restaurant websites. Its operations eventually encompassed website development, hosting, Internet marketing, online dining guides, gift certificates, Dine-mail, virtual tours, and other services designed specifically for the restaurant industry. The company's own 2001 website described its approach as providing "Turnkey Internet Solutions" to restaurants and reported more than 140 restaurant clients.

AZeats.com was Web Scene's Arizona dining operation. ColoradoEats.com extended the concept into Colorado through a joint ownership arrangement, with Web Scene, Inc. as the majority owner and Warren as the minority partner. The Colorado operation applied the AZeats concept to a second geographic market while developing its own history and relationships.

Web Scene also maintained its own standalone website. Unlike AZeats.com, however, the Web Scene website was not intended as a marketing tool and was not actively promoted to attract customers. It served primarily as an informational corporate website—an online place to explain what Web Scene was, describe its business model and services, provide media information, and identify its restaurant websites.

In that sense, Web Scene was the company behind the websites, while AZeats.com and ColoradoEats.com were the public-facing restaurant operations through which the company's ideas reached customers and restaurants.
